2013 Grant Workshops and Webinars: Gaining the Competitive Edge

Thank you for joining the Nevada Arts Council (NAC) staff at the 2013 statewide workshops. Each workshop was filled with enthusiastic attendees and all took away a better sense on how the grants approval process works and how to create, write and submit a better grant proposal. Both novice and experienced grant writers took home valuable information, reducing anxiety about ”getting it right” and building confidence in knowing that they can produce a strong grant application. With the increase in competition for NAC grants dollars and continued reduction in the NAC’s grants budget, we strongly recommended that BOTH new applicants and current grantees attend a workshop and/or listen to our webinars.

• Which NAC grant category is appropriate for your needs and situation
• How are NAC grants awarded (evaluation criteria, panel process, Board approval)
• What are some commonly made mistakes in the preparation and submission of competitive grant applications
• How to make the Grants Online™ system work for you. (Reminder: All NAC grants must be submitted through the Grants Online™ Grants Online System.)
