EXPRESS YOURSELF... AT AN ARTS TOWN MEETING
The NAC is updating its strategic plan, Values and Vision, which guides the actions of the agency, and we need your assistance. Through an extensive planning process, which includes local Arts Town Meetings and focus group discussions across the state, and an online survey in English and Spanish, we will explore the state of the arts and cultural needs of Nevada’s communities, evaluate our role as a state agency, and address the future of the arts for the Silver State. Join in this very important statewide conversation by sharing your “values and vision” with us. We encourage you to be candid, constructive and above all, creative!

COMMUNITY CATALYSTS' NETWORK AT WORK!
Seventeen volunteers stepped forward at the 2012 Arts @ the Heart Convening, Incline Village, to direct priority steps to establish a Community Catalysts Network. During the 2013 Arts@theHeart Convening in Reno on April 22 and 23 the dialogue continued during a lovely breakfast gathering and produced a very fruitful meeting for the Community Catalysts Network. The network is a forum for discussion, a place to access services and provides mutual support through a minimum of four quarterly teleconferences, the annual Arts the Heart Convening, and through professional development/skills advancement sessions throughout the year. If you’d like to join in on the conversation and connect and communicate with those who support, encourage and advocate for local arts and cultural awareness at the local level, please join in at our next Quarterly Teleconference.  Click for schedule.

PLANNING ACTIVITIES & COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS
Every three years, the Community Arts Program coordinates the agency's planning process by examining the state of the arts in Nevada and reviewing and refining its services to update the agency's strategic plan. NAC holds focus group meetings, individual interviews and community meetings (Community Conversations, Arts Summits, Arts Town Meetings) throughout the state. This allows NAC staff and board to engage in discourse and dialogue with arts leaders, community leaders, interested citizens and artists who are actively making changes on the community and state levels. Through this process, we strengthen the arts network; learn about arts and cultural activities at the local level, what is working and what needs to be done. In conjunction with these meetings, NAC also produces an online survey to assess public value of the arts and receive input on our programs. Our planning meetings and activities are co-sponsored and hosted by a wide variety of arts and community-based organizations.
