The Arts Education Program supports the goal of lifelong learning in the arts by promoting and expanding quality arts education opportunities for all Nevada citizens.  To encourage participation in the creative process, the program component include grants, statewide initiatives, and professional development opportunities.


FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES

Better Education Through The Arts (BETA) Grants
Quarterly grants that provide funding up to $750 for individuals and organizations whose project involves the planning, implementation, and/or evaluation of arts education programs.  continue

Arts Education Project Grant
The Arts Education Project Grant is an annual project grant to support imaginative arts education projects and artist residencies. continue


PROGRAMS & SERVICES

Artist in Residence Program & Roster provides students, teachers and communities with direct hands-on arts experiences through personal interaction with working artists. The residency design allows the artist to explore his/her discipline with students, teachers and community members through a variety of components that may include teacher workshops, classes, lectures and discussions, rehearsals, performances, community events, and perhaps a final project. continue

Arts License Plate
Drive home your support of the arts with a "Rich in Art" license plate. For each plate issued, $15 of the initial fee and $10 of the renewal fee supports statewide arts education programs of the Nevada Arts Council and VSA arts of Nevada. continue

Poetry Out Loud
The National Endowment for the Arts and The Poetry Foundation have partnered with State Arts Agencies to support the expansion of Poetry Out Loud, which encourages the nation's youth to learn about great poetry through memorization and performance. continue


PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT & TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE

Grant Workshops
Presented annually throughout the state, these workshops are designed to assist prospective and current grantees with planning, grant writing and grant management skills. continue

Technical Assistance
The AE Program offers research, guidance and referrals for the development of arts education projects and plans. AE staff can assist in identifying and applying for alternative sources for funding that support arts education, and provide material support for arts education advocacy.
